VEO Group is looking for an experienced and proactive Project Controller to play a key role in helping to ensure the financial and operational success of our customer projects. Project Controller will be part of the CFO organization, but will work in close collaboration with our project managers and with the wider Operations team.
Main responsibilities:
Monitoring of project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals
Tracking project progress and providing reports to stakeholders
Collaborating with project managers to develop cost estimates and forecasts
Analyzing performance data to identify trends, variances and areas for improvement
Maintaining and developing project control processes and tools for effective monitoring
Supporting the development of risk mitigation strategies
Promoting a commercial mindset within the operational teams
This role requires working on-site at Vaasa headquarters. Remote work is also possible according to our hybrid working policy. This role includes travelling to VEO offices in Västerås, Sweden, and Oslo, Norway.
In the short term, this position is planned to specifically support our projects in Sweden, meaning that you would focus on our Swedish project portfolio and support our project managers in Sweden (while some are located also in Vaasa). In this role, you will also prepare different management reports on the consolidated Sweden project portfolio for our Country Manager and Head of Projects, Sweden. While the role is controlling focused with high priority to customer projects, it might also entail project control activities for internal development and R&D projects, as well as some local financial controlling tasks to support VEO’s Swedish subsidiary in quarterly closing activities, etc.
What we expect from you:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar
Min. 5 years of work experience in project finance, project controlling or business controlling
Experience of different tools, project management software, financial systems and reporting builders such as QlikSense or Power BI, as well as advanced skills in MS Excel
Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting and financial modeling
Ability to track and manage key performance indicators
Strong communication skills to convey updates and collaborate with stakeholders
Problem-solving attitude and critical thinking skills to address challenges and improve project outcomes
Language skills in Finnish, Swedish and English
